The Origin
Why MyBioHack Exists
Before it was a research library, it was one person trying to work out what was wrong with him. That decade is where every topic on this site came from.
The Beginning
It Started With a Body That Was Failing
Over a decade ago, I found myself struggling with a collection of debilitating health issues that no doctor could explain.
I became a nomad, traveling around the world, watching top doctors from the Mayo Clinic and Ivy League hospitals scratch their heads at my case, then hand me a script for benzodiazepines and antidepressants. Modern medicine had failed me.
“I was so sick of my life and knew there was more to myself. I decided to take a new approach.”
What I Was Dealing With
28 symptoms. Zero answers from conventional medicine.
Every item on this list eventually became a research topic.
What Had to Be Done
Becoming My Own Researcher
My case didn't fit any boxes. So I did what any stubborn, chronically ill person would do. I became my own researcher. I read thousands of studies. I tracked everything. I ran my own experiments.
What I found was that my symptoms weren't random. They were interconnected signals from a system under siege. And once I understood the system, I could start fixing it.
Through n=1 self-experimentation and deep scientific research, I identified the contributing pathways that were driving my illness.
What I Found
Hapten sensitization
Reactive chemical molecules triggering immune responses
Redox/detox impairment due to epigenetic issues
Loss of BH4 via reactive oxygen species (ROS), impairing neurotransmitter production and detox
SALI (CIRS derivative)
Systemic and long-term inflammation stemming from biotoxin exposure and immune dysregulation
Thalamic, Hypothalamic, Basal Ganglia & PFC grey matter inflammation
Neuroinflammation affecting autonomic regulation, cognition, and mood
TLR activation and endotoxemia
Parasites, mold, LPS from gut dysbiosis leading to intestinal and blood-brain barrier permeability
What It Turned Into
The research notes became the library
431 articles, 47 chapters, and 43,000+ studies referenced. The story is the reason the library exists. The library is the part that helps you.
